Join the Cooperation team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation in the Philippines is hiring for a:
Cooperation Assistant
(based in Makati)
The Cooperation Assistant is responsible for liaising with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and other Movement partners on emergencies and joint activities, mostly at headquarters level but also in support of the Cooperation team as needed. S/he provides advice and recommendations on the strategic orientation of the department’s files and troubleshooting when needed, and provides support in the implementation of other files (i.e. Safer Access, communication, capacity building, etc.) with the PRC as required by the Head of Cooperation.
MAIN TASKS:
Maintains frequent and regular exchange of information between the relevant ICRC departments and PRC national headquarters in reference to emergency operations and joint activities
Maintains a good knowledge of key resolutions of the Movement with regards to coordination, assistance and security
Ensures that the ICRC’s approach and procedures for the enrolment, management and reporting on volunteers, as agreed by PRC, are respected by ICRC staff
Troubleshoots and contributes to problem solving, and in overall to the general relationship and implementation of activities jointly conducted with PRC during emergencies
Contributes to all related reporting as required
Contributes to the Cooperation budget preparation and follow-up and ensures that necessary financial and administrative requirements relating to emergencies are complied with by PRC
Acts as a resource person/trainer for ICRC Cooperation and extends necessary support on various training activities and/or capacity building activities of PRC-ICRC in emergency operation and preparedness
Supports the Cooperation team in better understanding of the dynamics of the PRC as an organization, its strategic plans and institutional priorities, and at the same time helps the team in implementing overall objectives
REQUIRED PROFILE:
A successful candidate will:
Possess a university degree in public administration, information management or equivalent
Have at least 4 years work experience in a similar field
Possess team leadership skills
Have good communication and analytical skills
Be fluent in written and spoken English
Have excellent computer skills
As an asset, the successful candidate may also:
- Have previous work experience in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
