The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a humanitarian organization that protects and assists victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence without discrimination. It has been working in the Philippines for more than 70 years, with a permanent presence since 1982.

The ICRC delegation in the Philippines is looking for suitable candidates for:

COMMUNICATION FIELD OFFICER

based in Cotabato City

Under the supervision of the Head of Office in Cotabato, the Communication Field Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing communication-related activities of the Cotabato Office. He/She contributes to the implementation of specific communication projects/programmes mainly independently, and maintains contacts with authorities at various degrees.

The Communication Field Officer contributes to appraisals and written reporting.

MAIN TASKS

Under the supervision of the Senior Communication Officer in Davao, the Communication Field Officer in Cotabato:

· Helps develop and implement the ICRC communication strategy in the areas of responsibility

· Manages the implementation of communication activities and monitors the budget

· Maintains and develops a network of key stakeholders

· Contributes to the security and operational analysis of the environment

· Develops and implements an environment scanning mechanism

· Liaises and coordinates with the Philippine Red Cross

· Provides coaching to Cotabato staff on communication activities

· Contributes to general reporting

· Knows, applies and complies with all the administrative procedures

REQUIRED PROFILE

· Bachelor's degree in communications, political science, liberal arts or any relevant field

· 4 years’ work experience in a similar field

· Fluent in written and spoken English and Filipino

· Fluency in Maguindanaon and Maranao is an asset

· Good team leadership, analytical, and communication skills

· Ample knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
