It carries out a range of activities to meet the needs of displaced and other vulnerable people, promote respect for international humanitarian law, and respond to emergencies, often in cooperation with its local partner, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Join the communication team of an international humanitarian organization. The ICRC delegation in Manila is hiring for a:
COMMUNICATION OFFICER
based in Makati City
As a key member of the communication team, the communication officer will provide specific communication-related support related to environmental scanning, digital communication and writing/editing for various departments and all ICRC offices in the Philippines.
Main tasks:
· Autonomously defines, implements and evaluates the digital strategy for the delegation
· Develops, creates, uploads, monitors and evaluates content of the online platforms of the ICRC in the Philippines
· Autonomously defines, implements and evaluates the environmental scanning strategy for the delegation
· Ensures regular monitoring of media/social media in English and local languages, and shares alerts and analysis to internal clients
· Writes and edits documents or articles for various communication tools
Required profile:
· University degree in Journalism or Communication and/or Humanities is essential
· 5-year experience in digital/online communication within public information and mass media
· Prior working experience with international humanitarian organizations is an asset
Competencies required:
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills
· Knowledge of a broad range of digital communication techniques and tools, with technical skills in delivering communication outputs
· Outstanding knowledge of social media platforms and strategies as well as knowledge of different crowdsourcing methodologies
· Expertise in the use of RSS, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Drupal or other HTML coding, MailChimp, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro/other video editing softwares
