The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian organization that works to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict and violence. The ICRC has been working in the Philippines for more than 50 years. It carries out a range of activities to meet the needs of displaced and other vulnerable people, promote respect for international humanitarian law, and respond to emergencies, often in cooperation with its local partner, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The ICRC Delegation in Philippines is hiring for a:
HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
(Based in Davao City)
With supervision, the HR ASSISTANT is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with senior HR management in supporting the ICRC sub-delegation office in Davao and other ICRC offices in Mindanao. S/he is expected to assist in the areas of benefits administration, employee relation, training, recruitment/employment, policy implementation and labor law compliance.
Main tasks:
- Maintains human resources information system records and complies reports from the database
- Participates in recruitment activities which include placing job ads, short-listing of candidates, conducting interviews, pre-employment tests, reference checks and new-employee orientations
- Maintains compliance with labor law and staff regulations concerning employment
- Assists in compensation and benefits program administration
- Participates in learning needs analysis and employee professional development
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and seminars
- Assists in employee relations, outplacement and exit interviews
- Participates in developing HR department goals, objectives and systems
Minimum required profile:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or public management, psychology or equivalent
- Possession of a master's degree is an advantage
- At least two-year work experience in a similar function
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Excellent computer skills with a working experience of any HRIS or HR/Payroll software
Preferred profile:
- Working knowledge in learning and development, employee and labor relations and organizational development
- Proven background in Philippine Labor Code, SSS, & EC, Philhealth and Pag-Ibig Fund administration
- Very good communication and reporting skills
- Very good negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Proven capacity to address sensitive information confidentially
- Experienced humanitarian or development worker
