The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. The ICRC Somalia delegation in Nairobi is seeking for an experienced and motivated person to fill the position of:
MEDICAL LOGISTICIAN-MOGADISHU.
He/She will ensure ICRC Medical Logistics standards are maintained and followed as closely as possible. He/She will coordinate with Medical Logistics in Nairobi and Geneva to ensure the needs of Somalia Health programs are met.
Main Responsibilities:
· Is in charge of medical logistics in the Somalia Delegation, ensuring adequate supply in terms of quality and quantity of drugs and medical equipment to operations in line with standard ICRC Institutional policies and procedures.
· Handles tasks independently and supervises a small team,
· Implements and runs procedures in accordance with medical logistics programs.
· Negotiates matters with external medical interlocutors
· Ensure compliance with legal requirements concerning storage of health care goods, especially Controlled drug products, dangerous goods and cold chain items
· Manages claims & recalls, and refers to the Head Pharmacist in Geneva for quality issues.
Participates in the establishment of a national list of drugs
Minimum requirements.
· Valid Bachelor or Doctorate pharmacist diploma
· Registered pharmacist according to the national regulations
· At least 4 years professional experience in a similar field
· Organizational skills
· Very good computer literacy
· Fluent in English and Somali language (spoken and written)
