The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian organization that works to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict and violence. The ICRC has been working in the Philippines for more than 50 years. It carries out a range of activities to meet the needs of displaced and other vulnerable people, promote respect for international humanitarian law, and respond to emergencies, often in cooperation with its local partner, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The ICRC Delegation in Philippines is hiring for a:
CASHIER / ACCOUNTANT
Based in Makati City
The Cashier/Accountant is responsible for daily cash flow and verifies financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. S/he reports directly to the Finance Manager.
Main tasks:
- Assists in managing finance and accounting procedures
- Analyzes accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to defined standards
- Posts cash receipts on a daily basis
- Manages cash & check disbursements, fund transfers, deposits, and draft requests
- Confirms that the cash control and the general ledger are in balance on a daily basis
- Confirms with bank personnel to affect fund transfers to and from the other company bank account
- Prepares monthly adjustment and summary reports
- Facilitates payment of accounts payable
- Prepares monthly billing statements e.g. vehicle use, telephone charges
- Reconciles bank statements
- Assists in monthly accounting closing and follows up on demands for financial allocations
- Participates in yearly budget preparation
Minimum required profile:
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, business administration or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar function
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Very good computer skills
- Proven knowledge and use of accounting software
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar field
- Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge in the use of any accounting software is an advantage
